P E O P L E
Theres only one problem about people and portrait photography.....people talk back and have an opinion! Not my favorite thing! ;-)
However, in January 2012 I was digging through my mutton korma in Karim's in Noida, a Delhi suburb, when I received a call from my friend, Kahini Ghosh Mehta (whose husband, Shivang, is a passionate wildlife photographer), asking me if I was interested in a photography assignment that involved behind-the-scenes photography for a film on the scourge of child prostitution. Having just quit my previous job of 10 years, I was deeply intrigued, not just at getting involved with a very powerful film, but also trying out a new kind of photography that was alien to my skills as a landscape and urbanscape photographer. You see, I just don't feel comfortable photographing people. Its just me, I guess, and nothing to do with the subject. But here was a chance for me to get involved with something that was perhaps life-changing! Below, are some of the images from the film, Oass, amongst other images that I have taken these past few months.
